Author Responsibilities
Authors are expected to uphold a high standard of ethical conduct in their research and publication practices:
- Objective Presentation: Authors must provide an unbiased and objective discussion of the research work, including adequate details and references.
- Data Integrity: Authors should maintain accurate records of the data associated with their submitted manuscript and make these data available upon reasonable request. They must ensure that all data used in the article are genuine and authentic. If appropriate, and in compliance with relevant regulations and permissions, authors should deposit data in an appropriate repository for sharing and further use.
- Avoiding Fraud and Plagiarism: Authors must refrain from making fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements. They should ensure that their work is entirely original and appropriately acknowledge the work and words of others. Plagiarism in any form is considered unethical and unacceptable. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously is also unethical.
- Acknowledgments: Authors should acknowledge any financial support and assistance received, as well as any relevant disclaimers.
- Contributions of Co-Authors: All co-authors should have made significant contributions to the research. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring full consensus among all co-authors in approving the final version of the paper and its submission for publication.
- Participation in Peer Review: Authors are obliged to participate in the peer review process, if required.
- Prompt Error Reporting: Authors should promptly notify the editor if they identify a significant error in their published work and collaborate with the editor to issue an erratum, addendum, corrigendum notice, or retract the paper when necessary.
- Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose all relationships or interests that could inappropriately influence or bias their work. These interests may include financial relationships, such as membership, employment, consultancies, stock/share ownership, honoraria, grants, paid expert testimonies, and patent-licensing arrangements, as well as non-financial interests, like personal or professional relationships and affiliations. Authors should declare any conflicts involving themselves or their co-authors in the “Comments for the Editor” field during the online submission process. If no conflicts exist, authors should explicitly state: “The authors declare no conflicts of interest.”
